Plugin Review: Finally Lock in the Low End of Your Mix’s With BASSROOM

I think it’s fair to say that the low end in any mix is a tough thing to get right. Try as we may to get that kick and bass to hang together, sometimes it feels like nothing’s working.

It’s almost like there’s nothing down there at the bottom of a mix except a pit of despair.

In our defense though, bass frequencies are notorious for being slippery and uncooperative. Even for the pros!

Which is why I’m excited for this week’s tutorial.

This week marks a WLPR first – a product review of an amazing plugin that helps you wrangle your low end with confidence.

BASSROOM, by Mastering the Mix, is a unique plugin that hones in on the low end of our mixes. The plugin:

  • measures your mix’s low end
  • provides targets for you to match based on genre and style
  • EQs with high quality filters that are best fit for bass balance

Is BASSROOM a cure-all for Low end? Not quite, as we still have to do our due diligence of balancing the low end.

But when you feel a mix is complete, BASSROOM can carry us over the finish line of tight and slamming bass with its unique approach.
