Ready For the New Year? Let’s Clean Up & Archive Those Old Projects

Happy New Year! Can you believe we’re only days away from 2023? I hope 2022 was creative and productive for you, and that next year is even better.

If you’re anything like me, you might be making a lot of goals for the new year. But it can also be good to “close the book” on all your finished Projects from 2022.

If you’ve found yourself in a sea of old Projects and limited hard drive space, this can be a great time to:

  • Consolidate (aka: copy and save every file your Project is relying on to the Project itself)
  • Clean Up (aka: remove any unnecessary files that are taking up hard drive space)
  • Archive (aka: “shelve” those Projects to an external drive or the cloud)

So let’s take some time right now to explore the workflow of cleaning up and archiving your Logic Pro Projects. Check out the video above for all the details!

    Dear Chris…
I’ve been a major fan of yours for years !
And well the time has come to purchase another MAC.. and well with the already old M1 chip and it’s incompatibilities to plugins,
Kontakt, East West, is 16 go of Ram enough ? Or the M2. MAC Studio hideously expensive … Airbook with M1.The questions are endless!

Would you be doing another widely expected updated video or did I miss it?

    Happiest New Year to ya!
    Thanx . ..

Hi Jason, thanks for your comment and support! It really depends on your needs. Are you needing portability like a MacBook? Or will you be working in a single location, so a desktop like the Mac mini or iMac might be appealing? What kind of work are you typically doing? Recording and producing? Mixing? Composing?

      Also, when you said:

“Would you be doing another widely expected updated video or did I miss it?”

Are you meaning a video that walks through which Macs I recommend for different users?

Oh My God….that was quick !
Well I prefer a portable cause I do
travel in France where I live.
I compose and have written add music and music for theatre….
I thought of a mini. Pricewise it’s so much more affordable …but is there enough ram and cores for lots of plugin power ?
Yes I meant videos on Mac walkthroughs.
    Thanx for your answers !
