Ever find yourself in this Project management pickle?
You have a track, plug-in chain, beat map, or something else living inside 1 Project. And you need somehow to transfer that thing into a different Logic Pro Project.
For example, for the last couple of weeks I’ve been mixing an album that I co-wrote and produced. Now at the mix stage, I’ve found myself:
- Changing my mind about the location of certain creative moments
- Retrieving sounds from previous versions of the Project
- Needing to compile a pared down Project to send to a collaborator
Through all this, I’ve needed some way to move tracks, plug-ins, tempo, and more across Projects.
Of course, you could export audio files and save channel strip settings or patches. But maybe you’re not 100% committed to the performance, sounds, or audio fx you’ve chosen. What then?
Well, with the Import Project Data & Settings function in Logic’s All Files Browser, you can skip Exporting and keep the creative juices flowing!
Import data directly from 1 Project to another without ever leaving the Project you’re working on. It’s a fantastic feature. Let me show you how to use it in today’s video above ⬆️
THANK YOU!!! This was unbelievably timely. This morning, I began working on a practice project using your outstanding WLPR Mix Template and somewhere along the way in the past day or two, I had deleted the Drum track stack. I tried going to the original template file that I’d made a fresh project from and simply copy (command – C) the track stack and paste it into the project I was working on but it didn’t work. I happened to remember that just yesterday or the day before, email landed from you about importing data and VOILA, problem solved. Thank you for all the great content–I am in awe of how deep your knowledge is. THANK YOU!
Excellent! Thank you!
