UPDATE: Funny enough, the day I posted a video about Mastering Assistant’s missing Character options, Apple dropped the 10.8.1 update.
This is worth noting because Apple updated the language in Mastering Assistant to more clearly state that Rosetta may be preventing users from accessing the Valve, Punch, and Transparent character options on Apple silicon Macs:
It’s been a few weeks since the release of 10.8. If you’ve had the chance to update, how have you been digging the new features?
I know I’ve said it a lot, but I LOVE the new Mastering Assistant plug-in.
In my opinion, the circle has now been complete. Logic Pro now provides everything you need to capture your creative ideas, arrange, mix, and then finalize your productions. Incredible!
However, depending on your Mac system, you might be having a different user experience with Mastering Assistant. In fact, 3 of the 4 Character options might not be available to you at all!
I’ve received a lot of questions about this particular issue. And depending on your Mac, there may or may not be an immediate solution.
For Apple Silicon users, the solution may be as simple as “flipping a switch.”
For Intel users, the solution may be a little further away…
Today’s video above explains all the details and potential solutions. Plus – I’ll also show you how to make the most of ARA 2.0 plug-ins like Melodyne on Apple Silicon.
